About Me
Tonja D. Jenkins, The Author
I have been in the caring business for a long time. This started as a Manager at a Housing Authority, to a Grant writer, and eventually became the CEO of Seedling Enterprises, Inc. (SEI) (seedlingenterprises.org). I have always had a strong compassion for people struggling with life. I had a tough road growing up and a tougher one as a single parent with three kids. I divorced my husband for not seeking help for alcoholism. I buried him less than two years later. Trying to raise kids with one income after living on two incomes for 14 years was a rough road, but I made it. Almost all of my kids are grown and gone, and I still have information to share about parenting alone I am inspired to write books to help other Single Moms have an easier journey. I hope my books, workbooks, speaking engagements, and other self-sufficiency projects inspire other Moms to recover, heal themselves, and raise strong, healthy families. I pray that you find value, inspiration and motivation in everything I write, say and do.
My Community
I open my website to you with hopes that you will share your journey, your experiences, your feelings, and maybe your burdens. Based on the blog discussions and questions of my readers, I will research and publish more books that I feel will help address those issues. Your comments and discussions will give me insight to the books that you need. I will respond to questions and provide advice through the Blog, when solicited.
My Mission
My books are fueled by the goals and mission of Seedling Enterprises, Inc. (SEI). This 501(c)(3) non-profit organization strives to help young parents obtain decent housing, job training, parenting skills, emotional balance and mental healing so that they can thrive, while avoiding public assistance. A portion of the revenues from my book sales will be donated to SEI to fund the Collective Prosperity Program (collective-prosperity.org) and to create affordable housing for low- to middle-income working families. You may donate to this program at the SEI website (www.seedlingenterprises.org).
