I am a military Veteran and a former Government Executive with over 20 years of experience in leadership, contracting, and management. My credentials started when I took a Project Manager position with a Maryland County Housing Authority. I provided self-sufficiency, homeownership preparation services, as well as coordinated the funding and operation of free community learning classes for mostly women for 2 years. I was very effective at this job, and I loved to see people transform their lives. I primarily served families earning less than 80% of the median income to navigate financial independence and homeownership, but the classes were open to everyone in the County. I developed and ran the Homeownership Preparation Course and developed the first operational Homeownership Voucher Program in the state. I also wrote grants for the Housing Authority, other County Agencies, non-profits, and businesses. I secured millions of dollars in grant funds for the County to support individuals struggling to make a living. When my "drastic life event" occurred, I had to leave my marital home due to alcoholism. I had to bring all of the marital bills that were in my name with me, because my Government job did not allow me to have bad credit. I divorced my husband for not seeking help for alcoholism, and later took out a loan to bury him less than two years later. He was $30,000 behind in child support payments when he died, and because I divorced him, I was not entitled to any military pension, insurance policies, or benefits. Trying to get safe housing for 3 kids while trying to manage a very busy, visual, and inadequately paying job was devastating. I realized that I needed to make more money to support my kids! I decided to go back to school and train for a job that paid more. After a multitude of peaks and valleys of motherhood, I am proud to say that I made it through. I want to share that experience, and add some improvements to that journey, so that your transformation will not take as long as mine. Fast forward to now, as the CEO of TDJ Investments LLC, I have been providing business consulting, technical writing, and business solutions for over 13 years. I have an Associate's Degree in Analysis & Research, a Bachelor's Degree in Management Studies, and a Master's Degree in Logistics & Acquisition Management. I had a tough road growing up, and it was even tougher as a single parent. Trying to raise three kids on a single income after living on two incomes for 14 years was a tough journey. I rebounded from earning $42,000 a year to a 6-figure income and a Master's Degree in 7 years. I have a wealth of information to share about my parenting journey! While my expertise is in Business development & Leadership, I have an obligation to write books to help other Single Moms have an easier journey. I hope my books, workbooks, speaking engagements, and other self-sufficiency projects inspire other Moms to recover completely, heal themselves, transform their lives to what they want them to be, and raise strong, healthy families.
